The Philadelphia Spirit has always prided itself with turning out many talented and trained athletes. The Spirit offers participating teams in the 10u, 12u, 14u, 16u and 18u with interest in a 23u program. The Spirit trains all year round. The majority of the teams play a fall, spring and summer season tournament schedule. The winter is spent primarily for strength and conditioning, skills development, speed and
agility training, as well as mental development of the game of fast pitch softball. Athletic training facilities are used from late fall to early spring in preparation for the tournament seasons.
The Spirit organization believes in developing players at an early age and continuing the development through the program as progress is measured in skill and knowledge development, assessed yearly for the welfare of the athlete, team and the organization as a whole.
Our dedicated volunteers and coaching staffs attend workshops offered every January at the coaches clinic to constantly improve their knowledge of the game. The coaches are always sharing information on all topics of the sport of fast pitch softball. The Spirit is not just a group of separate teams; rather, all of our coaches work together as one and always offering their expertise to all athletes needing assistance.
Our coaches are always willing to give the extra support to a dedicated athlete requesting extra help. Our network of coaching instructors affords the opportunity to develop an athlete in every area of the sport of softball.
The Philadelphia Spirit understands that this sport can become a burden for a working family. We offer fundraising events and programs for us modest income families. The Spirit does it's best to afford softball to all athletes, not just to a select few. The Spirit offers a college showcase team at the 18u level. Athletes at this level are required to do well in school and participate in all aspects of the college
recruiting requirements. Players in the organization are given first preference to this team during tryouts as long as skills assessed are maintained at this highly competitive level. The Spirit offers an athlete a chance to participate in fast pitch softball year after year. An athlete can find a softball home here, make plenty of friends and develop a great sense of camaraderie as a team playing together. Team
celebrations and motivational national tournament send off banquettes are held to serve as a pep rally.
The Philadelphia Spirit looks optimistically to the future to create new networks with area business and civic leaders to develop ties in the community allowing the future success of the organization in our communities. The Spirit hopes to create a program in which its volunteers can work together and continue to keep a place for young female athletes to play fast pitch softball at any age, continue promoting
interest in the sport of fast pitch softball in our communities and to keep young athletes involved in the sport. The Spirit develops athletic talent while stressing the importance of education of the athlete. All teams train and compete at the highest level of fast pitch softball available to the organization.
